VDCA 'Colts' Players Regulations
Victoria and District Cricket Association (VDCA)
Regulations for the VDCA ‘Colts’ teams (with effect from March 2015 onwards)
-
The VDCA ‘Colts’ teams have been formed with the purpose of providing an opportunity for regular cricket, in the VDCA leagues, for ‘youth players’ from all clubs in the VDCA — In the absence of a full youth cricket development program and ‘under age’ leagues.
-
A ‘youth player’ is defined, for players nominated in any team for a VDCA ‘event’ and for the purposes of these regulations, as a person (male or female) whose 21st birthday falls after April 01 of the applicable year.
-
Any VDCA ‘Colts’ team cannot have more than 3 non-youth players.
-
Any ‘youth player’ can be registered for a member club (his / her ‘primary’ club) of the VDCA. However, a ‘youth player’ whose primary club is Colts, must first be available for selection to play in a VDCA ‘Colts’ team BEFORE being available for selection for any other team / club in a VDCA league or ‘event’.
-
All ‘youth players’ are permitted to play for any team / club in a VDCA league or ‘event’. However, once a ‘youth player’ has played in a ‘representative’ team, that ‘youth player’ is only permitted to play for a VDCA ‘Colts’ team and for the member club with which he / she is currently registered with (his / her ‘primary’ club). A ‘representative’ team is defined, for the purposes of these regulations, as a team selected from players from more than one club to represent the VDCA at senior level or to represent Cricket BC at senior level or to represent Cricket Canada at any age level.
-
These regulations, for the VDCA’s ‘Colts’ teams, apply to all leagues, competitions and ‘events’ administered by the VDCA. Except for the Division II midweek league. In this case, a youth player is defined as any person (male or female) whose 19th birthday falls after April 01 of the applicable year.
